Heritage Blues Orchestra mixes many types of music

The Heritage Blues Orchestra will perform tonight at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis.

The band describes its sound as the grit of low-down country and urban blues with the bold brass of New Orleans, the hand-clapping fervor of gospel punctuated with fiery postmodern, jazz-infused horn arrangements.

The orchestra was a crowd favorite at the Rock Bend Folk Festival last weekend in St. Peter, Minn.
