Police: Package prompts evacuation of some UW-Superior dorms

Police say the discovery of a suspicious package prompted the evacuation of Superior High School and two dorms at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
The package was found in a parking lot near Ross Hall on the UW-Superior campus about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
WDIO-TV reports the Superior Police Department says arrangements are being made to have a bomb detection unit go to the scene.
Police say they are unaware of any threats against students or buildings at UW-Superior.
UW-Superior students who live in Ross and Hawkes Halls have been evacuated to Yellowjacket Union. Students at Superior High School were evacuated to the middle school.
Police asked the public to stay away from the area.
