Police arrest suspect in killing at Minneapolis bus stop

Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a woman at a Minneapolis bus stop.

The Minneapolis Police Department says the 50-year-old man has been jailed pending potential murder charges, and they searched a home in south Minneapolis as part of the investigation.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jessica St. Marie was shot in the head during an argument Tuesday night at a bus shelter at Lake Street and Park Avenue. She later died at Hennepin County Medical Center.

St. Marie was one of five people shot and killed in Minneapolis and St. Paul in a span of just three days this week. This was the first arrest announced in any of the cases. Authorities have said in each of the cases that the general public is not at risk.
