Dunkin' Donuts rolls out plans for more Twin Cities stores

Six months after announcing plans to return to the Twin Cities with 10 locations, Dunkin' Donuts on Wednesday said it signed franchise deals for 24 more sites.

The national doughnut and coffee giant said a new local franchise group, Kod Kod Enterprises, LLC, plans to develop 12 new Dunkin' Donuts stores in Minneapolis in the northern suburbs and the St. Cloud area, with the first expected to open in 2017.

VANTive Group, LLC, an existing franchise group with operations in Chicago, plans to open 12 new shops in "eastern Minneapolis and the surrounding areas" with the first also expected in 2017.

UPDATE: When they said "Eastern Minneapolis"? They actually meant "St. Paul." (via the Pioneer Press)

In April, the company said it signed a franchise deal for 10 west metro shops that would bring it back to the Twin Cities by the end of this year.
