A 15-month-old girl believed abducted from a city of Ramsey day care has been found safe, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said.

The sheriff's office said Khadijah Abdalaziz Sheikh was found by the Minnesota State Patrol on Interestate 35W at Stinson Boulevard, about three hours after the initial alert.

"The child has been recovered, safe and the suspect is in custody," a statement on Twitter said.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued an Amber Alert for Khadijah around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. The toddler was taken by her mother, who recently lost custody and "had been acting in an irrational manner, threatening to commit suicide and/or cause harm to other people," the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The mother was identified as Yusra Abumayaleh. Officials distributed a description and photos of her with her hair covered but said she no longer covers her hair that way. Her last known location was the Coon Rapids area on Wednesday, around 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

Repeated Amber Alerts gave descriptions of the car Abumayaleh was driving, but at one point said the license plate may have been changed and sent another alert with the new information.
