'Be a man' and the destructive definition of masculinity

What are the most destructive words in the world? One answer: "Be a man."

"Be a man," and all the implications that come from saying that to a young boy are explored in a film called "The Mask You Live In."

One theme in the movie is that we have completely warped, and dangerously so, the concept of masculinity.

There'll be a screening of this documentary Monday at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul followed by a panel discussion with Ashanti Branch, an educator from California and founded what's called the Ever Forward Club, and Ramsey County Attorney John Choi.

The two joined MPR News with Tom Weber Monday morning.
