The Minnesota Wild say assistant coach Darryl Sydor returned to team practice Tuesday following a leave of absence stemming from a drunken driving charge over the summer.
Sydor was arrested in August on Minnesota Highway 65 in Fridley after police received reports that he was driving erratically. He told the officer who pulled him over that he was driving his 12-year-old son to a hockey tournament, according to the criminal complaint. Authorities said he submitted to a blood-alcohol test at the police station that came back at .30, almost four times the legal limit.
In mid-October, he pleaded guilty to driving drunk.
He served a short jail sentence and also checked into a rehab program.
