As the world considers a response to terror attacks in Paris, terrorism expert David Schanzer warns that more aggressive ground action by Western allies will only increase the narrative of a clash of civilizations that ISIS uses to its benefits.
Schanzer, a professor at the Duke Sanford School of Public Policy and director of the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security joined MPR News with Kerri Miller to talk about ISIS and what the group hopes to gain from the attacks in Paris.
