Investigators say several people had stepped outside of a holiday gathering being held in the resort's restaurant. Authorities say at some point, the suspect -- a 61-year-old man from Finland, Minnesota -- came into contact with the victim. The suspect then allegedly produced a handgun and shot the victim.
Investigators found the suspect in a guest room and took him into custody. A firearm was found in the room.
The victim's name has not been released.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the case.
