The Virginia City Council has rejected a motion that asks a company that hosts "clothing optional" parties to leave town.
The discussion at Tuesday's council meeting centered around legislating morality. Virginia Mayor Larry Cuffe told council members the city has no legal grounds to stop the company, AttractionUSA, from holding the parties at a downtown hotel.
AttractionUSA's Glen Williamson sent a letter to the council saying his parties aren't illegal or a public nuisance, but that they would move on if the city wanted them to leave.
WDIO-TV reports the council rejected a motion to ask the company to stop holding the parties. Councilor Nevada Littlewolf says telling the company it can't do business in the city "feels like a witch hunt."
