Elderly man killed, wife injured in north Mpls. house fire

Authorities say an elderly man has died and his wife has been injured in a Minneapolis house fire.

Firefighters found the couple inside the house on the city's north side about 6 p.m. Thursday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was rushed to the hospital. Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Tyner says the blaze appears to have started in a bedroom.

A firefighter at the scene suffered a hand injury while working the fire.
