The rescue of three fishermen from a lake in Ramsey County has authorities again warning about the dangers of thin ice.
The three men were planning to spend Sunday on Bald Eagle Lake and were riding together on an eight-wheel ATV packed with supplies when the ice gave way. Sheriff's officials say the ice is only about an inch thick and luckily the ATV floated, giving them time to call 911.
KARE-TV reports rescuers from the Ramsey County Water Patrol found the men and pulled the ATV to shore with an airboat. The men were not injured.
The Department of Natural Resources says the ice should be at least four inches thick before it's safe.
