A Waseca teenager accused of plotting to attack his school and kill his family has been taken to an undisclosed treatment facility following his release from jail.

John LaDue was driven away from the Waseca County Jail in an SUV on Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff Brad Milbrath would not say specifically where he was being taken, but a judge had ordered the Department of Human Services to find LaDue a place in a state-operated residential treatment center under his plea deal.

The 19-year-old was set to return home after finishing his sentence Thursday to live temporarily with his parents because the state was having trouble finding a treatment bed for him. LaDue was 17 when he was arrested in 2014 after police found him in a storage unit with bomb-making materials.
