This year's iteration of the Iowa caucuses featured a historically large turnout and a handful of surprising twists.

Hillary Clinton defeated Bernie Sanders by the narrowest of margins in the Iowa Democratic caucuses, NPR reported. On the Republican side, Ted Cruz pulled out the victory against Donald Trump, and Marco Rubio finished a strong third.
