Sunday night, about 300 girls took to the dance floor with their fathers to celebrate Valentine's Day. The fourth annual father-daughter dance was organized by the nonprofit Positive Image Minneapolis, and held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center.

The event for fathers (or father figures) and daughters began four years ago, when about 75 girls attended with their dads, uncles or grandfathers.

Photojournalist Angela Jimenez was there for the sold-out dance.

Editor's note (Feb. 18, 2016): An earlier version of this story misidentified Kwedeh Mcborrough and his daughter, Ciara.
