Police are investigating a reported theft of suspended Minnesota freshman Kevin Dorsey's cellphone at the Mall of America last week.
City of Bloomington Deputy Police Chief Mike Hartley confirmed Wednesday that Dorsey filed a report Sunday, saying his phone was stolen four days earlier from a shoe store at the megamall.
Dorsey and teammates Nate Mason and Dupree McBrayer were benched Tuesday for the remainder of the season. The punishment stemmed from a sexually explicit video that appeared Friday on Dorsey's social media accounts, two days after the phone was allegedly stolen and two days before he reported it to police.
Hartley said officers have surveillance video evidence of a theft, but the investigation has not yet identified any suspects.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press first reported the investigation.
