Minnesota nurse returning to Sierra Leone to be midwife

Nurse Alice Karpeh poses in her home in Brooklyn Park, Minn. Originally from Tikonko village in Sierra Leone, Alice has worked for Boynton Health Services for 12 years. She is returning to Sierra Leone for six months to operate the Rural Healthcare Initiative, a nonprofit she founded that seeks to improve maternal and pediatric healthcare throughout the region.
