To say that Facebook is a cultural phenomenon is an understatement. In December of last year the company reported having 1.04 billion active users daily. However, it's estimated that about one million teens a year are opting for other forms of social media, and Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said "Coolness is done for us."
MPR News guest host Luke Burbank spoke with Judith Donath, former head of the MIT Media Lab's Sociable Media Group and author of The Social Machine: Designs for Living Online and Keith N. Hampton, professor of communication and public policy at Rutgers about whether or not the power of Facebook is fading.
