Minneapolis police say they're searching for those responsible for gunning down a man in north Minneapolis in broad daylight Saturday.
The man was found dead in the alley between Dupont and Colfax avenues north near 39th Avenue North.
Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder says police are looking for a white passenger car and are interviewing both eyewitnesses and anyone who knows something that could help investigators. Elder says the incident does not appear to be random.
Elder says the incident happened just before noon Saturday and shocked the community. He says the scene was very emotional, with family and friends of the victim showing up to find out what happened.
"We called in our chaplain to help with not only families, but people that live in that area, to help them start to cope with their grief," he said.
The victim's identity will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
