Sister says man killed by train was longtime railroad worker

A Wisconsin man struck and killed by a train in a St. Paul rail yard last weekend was a longtime railroad employee.
The sister of 43-year-old Jeffrey Harsh of West Allis says he worked for Canadian Pacific for about 17 years.
According to the police report, Harsh was starting his shift at the rail yard and was crossing the tracks when a train clipped him.
The train was traveling about 30 mph. The conductor says he saw Harsh trying to cross the tracks when he was 100 yards away and immediately applied the emergency brakes, but was unable to stop in time.
Liana Harsh tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press her brother had loved trains since he was a boy.
The Federal Railroad Administration and Canadian Pacific are investigating.
