Think single lane traffic stinks? This weekend you'll have to do without Interstate 35W in the north metro, which will shut down for a bridge demolition.
It's the biggest construction hassle the Minnesota Department of Transportation has planned for the next few days.
While this weekend's map looks a little less packed than last week, driving around will still require a heads-up for detours. Here are some of the weekend's biggest potential troublemakers:
I-35W Arden Hills, Mounds View. The highway closes from 10 p.m. Friday night to 5 a.m. Monday between Interstate 694 and the west junction of I-35W and Highway 10 for demolition of the County Road H bridge.
Highway 280, St. Paul, Lauderdale. Minnesota Highway 280 traffic is a single lane in each direction between Broadway Street and Como Avenue. Continuing through this weekend: The interchange of Highway 280 and I-35W will be closed through mid-July.
I-94 bridges in St. Paul. The Victoria Street bridge is closed through June 15. Continuing this weekend: The Cretin Avenue bridge is closed through Monday and the Prior Avenue bridge is closed through early August.
