Today's Morning Edition music is from the song "Adore" by Prince from his 1987 album "Sign O' the Times."

The concert film based on the music from that album will be shown tonight on what would have been Prince's 58th birthday in the WXYZ Bar at Aloft Minneapolis. DJ Lenka Paris will follow that up with a funky dance party.

Other special birthday events include an all-Prince skating session at the Roller Garden in St. Louis Park, where Prince skated as a kid.

And the University of Minnesota's UROC Gallery will hold an exhibit opening party tonight. That exhibit is titled "Where Purple Reigns: Minnesota Artists on Prince."
