McCartney, Martin both played piano on the hit 'Good Day Sunshine'

Today's Morning Edition is from 50 years ago today when the Beatles finished recording "Good Day Sunshine," a song that would appear on their acclaimed "Revolver" album.

Paul McCartney says "Daydream" by The Lovin' Spoonful inspired him to write the song.

McCartney plays the piano throughout the tune, but the piano solo in the middle was performed by producer George Martin.
