The St. Paul City Council will hold a public hearing next week about a proposed ordinance that would mandate paid sick time for employees.

The city is following in the footsteps of Minneapolis, where council members passed a similar ordinance in May.

MPR News host Tom Weber spoke with St. Paul City Council member Chris Tolbert about the proposed change.
