From strep throat to bladder infections to pneumonia, doctors deal with infectious diseases every day.

Now, Dr. Jon Hallberg says the latest disease that's making the rounds is the Zika virus.

Average physicians, however, aren't usually well-equipped to deal with Zika. Many are learning along with the public when new diseases come prevalent in the way Zika has.

Hallberg, MPR News' regular medical analyst, sat down with All Things Considered host Tom Crann to talk concerns with Zika and infectious diseases in general.
