Market hogs, giant pumpkins and desserts that incorporate Spam These are just a few of the things being judged at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

In addition to Midway rides and food on a stick, the Great-Minnesota-Get-Together offers hundreds of competitions.

Each day this week, All Things Considered is focusing in on one of these contests. Our series "What's Being Judged?" asks you to guess which contest we're showcasing.

Here's a hint, from one of the judges:


They're looking for muscularity, Olympian qualities, attention-grabbing masculinity.

But not all the competitors are male. Judges here say they're also looking for top-quality females.
