Brady Bunch covered a K.C. and the Sunshine Band hit 40 years ago

Today's Morning Edition music is from 40 years ago when "Shake Your Booty" by K.C. and the Sunshine Band was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart. It was their third No. 1 hit.

A few months later when the pilot episode of the "Brady Bunch Variety Hour" was televised and disco fever was in the air, the Bradys decided to put their stamp on the song as well.

Geri Reischl, or "fake Jan" as she would become known, was the only non-original cast member on that show and the only one to get a solo singing part during this song.
