Idea to combat invasive species: Create fresh water preserves in Minnesota lakes

Flowering rush grows among native lilies and bulrushes on Lake Sallie near Detroit Lakes. A research project led by the Pelican River Watershed District found a way to control the invasive plant and limit damage to native plants through carefully timed herbicide applications.
