Zombies hit the streets, plus other road closures

The Zombie Pub Crawl is upon us, and that means street closures in Minneapolis from 8 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.

First Avenue North to Third Street North will be fully closed — no vehicles will be allowed. At Seventh Street North, local access will be allowed.

Sixth Street North, from Hennepin Avenue to Second Avenue North will allow only local access.

Fourth Street North and Fifth Street North from Hennepin Avenue to Second Avenue North will also be closed.

Here is a guide to other major weekend traffic problems.

Highway 12, West Metro:

Beginning on Monday, Highway 12 will be closed between county roads 6 and 112 through late fall.

I-35W, North Metro:

Northbound I-35W between county roads H and I will be closed in the right lane.

The ramps connecting County Road H to I-35W in both directions will be closed through late fall.

I-94, St. Paul to Maplewood:

On Saturday and Sunday, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane between East 7th Street and Highway 120/Century Avenue. This will happen between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.

Also continuing this weekend, Highway 61 to westbound I-94 is reduced to a single lane. That should last through November.

There are also several ramps closed.

I-494, West Metro:

East Fish Lake Road bridge is open, but from Friday night at 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, I-94 will be closed at I-694. Also, the ramp from northbound I-494 will be closed to westbound I-94.

I-694, Little Canada and Arden Hills:

Starting Monday, ramps between westbound I-694 and Victoria Street will be closed through late November.

Traffic on westbound I-649 between I-35E and Lexington Avenue is now separated by a concrete barrier. Through traffic will travel in the left lane and have no access to local roads. The right lane will carry traffic, but have access to local roads. For more information, visit the MnDOT website.
