The University of Minnesota women's volleyball team, ranked second in the country, beat No. 1 Nebraska Wednesday night at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis.
Nebraska won the first two sets of the best of five match, but Minnesota came back to win the next three to take the match.
Senior outside hitter Sarah Wilhite says the Gophers demonstrated their resilience in the match.
"We're a team that works hard no matter what. We didn't give up after the second set. We didn't give up when we down 21-23 in the third. And we just have a lot of belief and confidence," Wilhite said.
The Gophers take on the third-ranked Wisconsin Badgers Saturday night in their final match of the regular season.
