Two Twin Cities area high school students have died and a third has been injured in a traffic crash.
Authorities say the students from Mounds View High School in Arden Hills were involved in an accident Thursday morning. The surviving student is hospitalized with unknown injuries.
The crash happened near the frontage road that leads to the high school. Principal Jeffery Ridlehoover said in a statement the students' vehicle was struck at the corner of Highway 10 and County Road 96. The names of the students have not been released.
Ridlehoover says the district's crisis counselors were called to the high school to talk with students and listen. After-school activities, including athletic games, have been canceled.
