Morrison County Sheriff: hunter's death a homicide

The Nov. 7 death of Terrence Brisk in a wooded area of Morrison County is now being investigated as a homicide, the Morrison County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Preliminary autopsy results concluded that Brisk "died from blood loss resulting from a gunshot wound," the sheriff's office said in a statement. He was killed east of Little Falls, Minn., in a wooded area northwest of the intersection of Hawthorne Road and Jewel Road in Belle Prairie Township.

Investigators are seeking the public's help locating Brisk's gun, which was believed to have been stolen during the incident. It's a Winchester Model AE 30-30 lever action rifle, described as an older model with a wooden stock and forearm with no sling attached. Brisk was known to carry the rifle in the woods while hunting, the department said.

There is a $20,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the person who shot and killed Brisk. Anyone with information should contact the Morrison County Sheriff's Office at 320-632-9233.
