How the GOP health bill could affect MinnesotaCare, Medical Assistance

Two congressional committees will meet Wednesday in Washington to debate the health care bill house Republicans revealed this week.

If passed, the bill would replace the Affordable Care Act while keeping many of its signature features.

Some of the most dramatic changes being proposed are to Medicaid, which insures people who can't afford to buy coverage on their own.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Emily Piper, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Services, which oversees Medicaid and MinnesotaCare, about how the changes could affect Minnesotans.
