Health plans managing uncertainty from federal and state lawmakers

Insurance companies are now trying to work out what to charge for coverage next year. They need to send those estimates to state regulators in the next few months.

However, those are hard estimates to make with local and national lawmakers reviewing a number of health care bills including the American Health Care Act, supported by Republicans, and a so-called reinsurance plan proposed in the Minnesota Legislature.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Lynn Blewett, a professor of health policy and management at the University of Minnesota.
