What's next on the legislative horizon for health care

For seven years, Republicans have promised to repeal and replace Obamacare.

But their plan, the American Health Care Act didn't even make it to the House floor for a vote. Despite a having a majority in the House, a rift in the party between moderates and the House Freedom Caucus left Republican leaders shy of the 216 votes needed pass the bill and send it off to the Senate. The plan has recently been revived and is gaining some political steam.

Mary Agnes Carey, senior correspondent for Kaiser Health News, joined MPR guest host Jana Shortal for a conversation about changes to the proposed bill.
