Current mayor Chris Coleman is not seeking re-election in order to focus on his run for governor in 2018. Four candidates are seeking the DFL endorsement for mayor in the heavily Democratic city: Melvin Carter, Pat Harris, Dai Thao and Tom Goldstein.
Businessman Tim Holden and Green Party candidate Elizabeth Dickinson are also running.
