Today's Morning Edition music is from Pokey LaFarge with "Riot in the Streets" from his new album "Manic Revelations." 

LaFarge, who lives in St. Louis, wrote this song in response to the riots in Ferguson, Mo., after Michael Brown was killed by a police officer. LaFarge says "the song started getting written about Ferguson, but it is overall touching on a national issue." 

He'll perform Thursday night at First Avenue in Minneapolis.
