Today's Morning Edition music is from "I'm Your Boogie Man" by KC and the Sunshine Band, which was No. 1 on the Billboard Pop chart 40 years ago this week.

Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch wrote the song in honor of a Miami DJ by the name of Robert Walker. He was the first disc jockey to play the band's breakthrough single "Get Down Tonight" on the radio.

This song was KC and the Sunshine Band's fourth No. 1 hit.
