Photos: Delano puts on 'oldest and largest' July 4 celebration

World War II veteran Fred Gordon rides in the Delano Fourth of July parade. The 99-year-old Gordon fought in the Battle of the Bulge and still sings in his church choir at Delano Baptist Church, according to friend Mark Olson.

It was a beautiful day for a parade in Delano Tuesday, which bills it as the oldest and largest Fourth of July celebration in the state.
The city west of Minneapolis put on a red, white and blue small-town-feel parade on a big scale, bringing thousands to watch the floats and marching bands, and, of course, scramble for some candy.
Correction (July 5, 2017): An earlier version of this story misidentified the Lakeville South marching band.
