Authorities say the 32-foot boat struck a concrete marker near a boat landing on the Wisconsin side of the river. Part of the boat was submerged.

The five injured passengers were all from Minnesota.

Officials say the boat had the required number of life vests but they were not in use at the time.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Vernon County, Wis., authorities.
