Minneapolis police chief on body cams, downtown safety and recruitment

The Minneapolis Police Department will have a new executive leadership team beginning next week. Police Chief Medaria Arradondo announced the appointments Monday in one of his first major acts as chief, a position he assumed last week.

Arradondo is Minneapolis's first black police chief, and he takes the helm of the department as it faces low morale, rising crime, and fractured public trust. He spoke to MPR's Cathy Wurzer about the future of the department.
