St. Paul's Red House Records sold to Nashville firm

A Nashville-based company has bought St. Paul-based Red House Records.

For more than three decades, Red House championed folk and roots music, releasing discs by co-founder Greg Brown, Peter Ostroushko, Rambling Jack Elliot and Koerner, Ray and Glover. Current Red House artists include the Cactus Blossoms, Charlie Parr, The Wailin' Jennys and Chastity Brown.

Red House will now be run from Compass Records Group in Nashville. It is unclear how many current Red House staff will make the move.
