Woman fatally stabbed in St. Paul's 20th killing of 2017

A woman died from her injuries after an apparent stabbing in St. Paul on Tuesday, police said in a statement.

It was the city's 20th homicide of the year.

At about 5 p.m., officers were called to an apartment complex just blocks northwest of the state Capitol. When they arrived, officers found a woman with an apparent stab wound.

Paramedics took her to Regions Hospital where she died.

Police say they have made an arrest in connection with Tuesday's apparent stabbing.

The Forensic Services Unit will process the scene and the Homicide Unit is investigating, the police statement said.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will identify the victim.
