Cops: Masked man threw coins at kids in Mankato suburb

The police department of a Mankato, Minn., suburb says the masked driver of a suspicious vehicle is targeting kids and throwing money at them.

Eagle Lake police say the driver threw a handful of coins in front of four children next to the city's fire hall Wednesday. Two said the same vehicle approached them Thursday. In one case, the vehicle stopped, dropped cash, and ordered the child to get into his car.

The child said the man was wearing a suit and tie, as well as a mask.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension distributed the information Thursday. The vehicle is described as a four-door red car, with rust on the rear side. The license plate could be from Texas.

Anyone with information should call Eagle Lake police at (507) 257-3110.
