Mental health and Minnesota's criminal justice system

The 2017 Ground Level Survey found that just over half of Minnesotans (56%) think the state is on the right track when it comes to providing mental health care. But how well is the state handling mental health needs in its criminal justice system?

MPR News host Kerri Miller spoke to health care reporter Mark Zdechlik, and Mark Anderson, executive director of the Barbara Schneider Foundation, to learn more about the challenges of providing adequate mental health care across the justice system.
