Thanksgiving is a time for traditions like running a 5K, playing football with family and friends, or sharing time volunteering for charity.
Wednesday night, for the 17th year, people with ties to Minneapolis' north side will gather in the Ascension Church kitchen to prepare 1,600 Thanksgiving dinners for families in need.
