Pedestrian struck, killed by light rail train
A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a light rail train in St. Paul.
Metro Transit says the woman was hit about 3 p.m. Sunday by an eastbound Green Line train on University Avenue. Transit spokesperson Howie Padilla says the woman was standing in an area marked as a hazard zone.
The train operator was placed on administrative leave as part of Metro Transit's standard procedure.
