Man dies in fall from building on Bemidji State University campus

An 18-year-old man died early Sunday after falling from a residence hall at Bemidji State University.
Bemidji police and university officials said police were called to Tamarack Hall at about 12:30 a.m. on a report of a person who was lying on the ground and bleeding.
"Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old male who appeared to have been the victim of a fall from a high elevation," police said in a news release. "(Emergency crews) on scene began to immediately provide emergency medical care, however, all life-saving efforts were unsuccessful."
Tamarack Hall is a 12-story building, but it wasn't immediately clear how far the victim fell, or what led up to the fall. Police said investigators are working to find witnesses.
The man was a visitor to campus and was not enrolled at the university, police said. His name has not yet been released.
Bemidji State University President Faith Hensrud, in a statement to the university community, said counselors would be made available for students and faculty members.
