BCA identifies Hastings officer who fatally shot man

The Hastings police officer who shot and killed a suspect this week has been identified. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said Officer Geoff Latsch is on standard administrative leave following Monday's shooting. He has been with the Hastings Police Department for three years.
Autopsy results from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office show that 23-year-old Keagan Johnson-Lloyd died of multiple gunshot wounds. He was a suspect in a stabbing that occurred Monday afternoon.
Police say officers located Johnson-Lloyd later as he was walking in a residential area. At one point during that encounter Latsch fatally shot Johnson-Lloyd. The BCA said a box cutter blade was recovered at the scene of the shooting.
Police body cameras captured the incident. The BCA is investigating the shooting.
