Driver in crash charged with kidnap, vehicular homicide

A driver accused of crashing an SUV leaving one passenger dead and another injured injuring before fleeing from the scene is charged with vehicular homicide and kidnapping in Hennepin County.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 31-year-old Andre Ogburn, of Minneapolis. A criminal complaint says Ogburn crashed an SUV on an Interstate 94 exit ramp in Minneapolis Sept. 16. Fifty-seven-year-old Kimel Sykes died at the scene. Another passenger, a 37-year-old Minneapolis man remains hospitalized with injuries.

Prosecutors say Ogburn got into the vehicle of a motorist who had stopped at the accident scene, pointed a gun at her and ordered her to drive to a nearby liquor store, where he fled on foot.

Ogburn remains on the run. He's on federal probation for dealing heroin.
